Now it’s summertime, the perfect time to visit a beach or seaside area with your family and friends. For the seaside, Brighton is one of the nearest beaches from London. It takes only 1 hour and 10 minutes from London Farringdon station to Brighton. You can go from different stations too, including London Victoria station.
We are a group of four people, so we booked group tickets from the Trainline app. Group tickets are cheaper than regular tickets. If you are in a group of 3 to 9, you can book group tickets. With group tickets, you can save almost ⅓ of the ticket price, and the good thing is you don’t need a railcard for these savings. Even if you don’t have a railcard, you can still enjoy cheaper tickets by booking in groups. Our ticket price was £22.70, but by booking in a group, it cost us only £15.55.
First, prepare your backpack for the trip. In your bag, you must keep one set of clothes, meaning one top and bottom, or your swimsuit. Also, keep a water-resistant bag for wet swimwear. I took lots of dry food with me like chocolate, mixed fruit nuts, cake, etc., because during the train journey, you might get hungry. Don’t forget your water bottle and mobile charger. If you love football, I highly suggest taking a football so everyone can enjoy playing.
Start your journey early in the morning because your target will be to visit two places in one day. We made a mistake by taking the train from Farringdon at 10:54 a.m., so we arrived in Brighton after 12. Don’t do that, guys. Then we enjoyed Brighton Pier and some rides as well.
Then we started our second journey from Brighton to Seven Sisters Country Park in the late afternoon. We took the bus from North Street (stop C), bus number 12A Coaster to Cornfield Road North. It took us 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to Seven Sisters Country Park. My suggestion would be to try to get on the 13X Coaster because it takes almost 1 hour and 5 minutes, saving you about 25 minutes. After getting off the bus at the Seven Sisters Country Park bus stop, we freshened up. There is a public toilet, so you can freshen up after the long journey. Then we started walking, and after 45 minutes, we reached the top of the hill. Take lots of water with you because we ran out of water. It takes another 45 minutes to get off the hill. The view of the Seven Sisters is worth the 45-minute walk. Then we took the bus back from Seven Sisters, and after another 1 hour and 10 minutes, we reached Brighton. From Brighton, we took the train back to London Farringdon station, and that is how we spent a good day trip at Brighton and Seven Sisters.
