A Day at the Natural History Museum

How to Get There?

You can get there via the District Line, Circle Line, and Piccadilly Line, as these trains operate on South Kensington Station. If you are coming from the east side of London, you can take the District Line and Circle Line, while the Piccadilly Line is always preferred by those from west London. It takes a 5-minute walk from South Kensington Station to the museum.

How to Book Tickets for the Natural History Museum?

Although the Natural History Museum is free and you can walk in, I still recommend booking your free tickets from the website. Last school holiday, I visited the museum without booking a ticket and had to stand in a long queue for one and a half hours to get in. So, don’t make the same mistake as me; book your ticket in advance.

How Long Does It Take to See the Whole Museum?

The museum has almost 20 galleries where you can enjoy a full day, but it normally takes about 4.5 hours to see the whole museum.

Special Attraction

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is one of the special attractions, but it is not free. You have to book a ticket. Off-peak adult tickets are £15.50, and peak hour tickets are £18. This exhibition is held in the East Pavilion Gallery of the museum, South Kensington, London.

Is There Any Prayer Room Available?

Yes, a prayer room is available in the Natural History Museum. In the Contemplation Room, people can pray and take a little break from their visit. This is a big plus point for Muslim visitors, as they can perform their prayers in the prayer room. This is a walk-in prayer room, so you might find people coming and going around times of prayer.

Yes, you can bring your own food, like sandwiches, coffee, and tea, and you can use the cafeteria to have your meal. You can also buy tea and coffee from the museum cafe.

In the shop, you can find lots of items, mostly children’s toys like toy dinosaurs and teddy bears. You can also find home decor items.
