1 Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge is the heart of London. It evokes emotions for Londoners. When someone visits London or comes to London for the first time, Tower Bridge always stands at the top of their list to visit. From my personal experience, when I first came out from my aunt’s house to see the London city, my journey started from Tower Bridge. That’s why I keep Tower Bridge at the top of the list.Tower Bridge and London Bridge are located next to each other in the Pool of London, on the River Thames. Tower Bridge spans between the boroughs of Tower Hamlets and Southwark, near the Tower of London and the Old City Hall. Anyone can easily access Tower Bridge via TFL train service. The nearest train station is the Tower Hill station, which is a 7-minute walk away from Tower Bridge. You can get fresh air and enjoy the view when walking on the side of Tower Bridge. You can find lots of diverse cultures’ people here. Tower Bridge is mainly free, but if you want to go inside the bridge and see the engine room, then you have to buy a ticket. The ticket price is £12.50 for adults and £6.20 for children. There are lots of other categories for the ticket as well. You can choose the category that best suits you and book your ticket.

 

2 London Eye

The London Eye is located near London Waterloo station. It is also one of the top tourist spots in London. You can easily get to the London Eye because of its location. London Waterloo station is one of the biggest train stations in central London. The main train line is South Western Railway, but you can get to almost every line here. If you come from the east side of London, you can come via the Jubilee line or if you are from the south or north London, you can use the Northern Line to get to the London Eye. From the London Eye, you can get a nostalgic view of London. You need a ticket to get into this ride. The standard price of a ticket is £30. Also, there are lots of tickets available so you can choose which one suits you best.

 

3 Camden Town

If you want some spicy and delicious street food and want to visit a multicultural area, then Camden Town is the best for you. Here you can find a world-diverse range of food from Argentine steak to pasta. All in one place. If you are going from the east side of London, then you have to catch the Northern line from Moorgate underground or simply use the Northern line to get to Camden Town. The food prices in Camden Town are reasonable so you can taste lots of food on a short budget.

 

4 Buckingham Palace

Another historical landmark of London city and the King’s official London residence and a working royal palace. You have to book a ticket to get into it. The ticket price for adults is £32.00. Buckingham Palace is open to visitors each summer, and on selected dates for Exclusive Guided Tours during winter and spring. Dates for summer 2024 are from 11th July to 29th September 2024.

 

5 Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is the royal church of London. Westminster Abbey, formally titled the Collegiate Church of Saint Peter at Westminster, is an Anglican church in the City of Westminster, London, England. Since 1066, it has been the location of the coronations of 40 English and British monarchs and a burial site for 18 English, Scottish, and British monarchs. You can easily go there via the District line or Jubilee line. This church is free for worship, but if you need to visit this church properly, then you have to book a ticket. The current entry price is £29 per adult.

 

6 National History Museum

If you want to plan a simple day trip inside central London, then the National History Museum is the perfect destination for you. The nearest tube station is South Kensington station, and the District, Circle, and Piccadilly lines run through this station, making it very easy to get here. You can book a free entry ticket to avoid the long queue. When I went to this museum for the first time, I did not book any ticket and stood in the queue for almost over an hour to get inside the museum.

 

7 Borough Market

Borough Market is London’s finest food market. Borough Market is located next to London Bridge station, serviced by the Northern and Jubilee Tube lines, in addition to mainline trains from all over London. London Bridge, Borough High Street, and Southwark have several bus stops, with buses going to destinations across the capital. While exploring the stalls of Borough Market, you’ll find everything from famous British pies to lactose-free ice creams and rare spices.

 

8 Hyde Park

Several well-known sites may be found in Hyde Park, including Serpentine Lake, Speakers Corner, and the Princess Diana of Wales Memorial Fountain. Bike riding, tennis, horseback riding, sailing, and open-water swimming are among the popular sports. A variety of eateries, cafes, and kiosks are available for visitors to enjoy. You can go to Hyde Park via the Central line.

 

9 Big Ben

The Elizabeth Tower is the clock tower of the Palace of Westminster in London, England. It contains the Great Clock, a striking clock with five bells. The tower is nicknamed “Big Ben”, which was originally a nickname for the largest bell. You can visit both Westminster Abbey and Big Ben at the same time because they are at the same place.

 

10 Trafalgar Square

The square’s name commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar, the British naval victory in the Napoleonic Wars over France and Spain that took place on 21st October 1805 off the coast of Cape Trafalgar. The site around Trafalgar Square has been a significant landmark since the 1200s. You can go to Trafalgar Square via Bakerloo line and Jubilee line as well. The nearest station is Charing Cross. From this station, it takes only a 3-minute walk to get there.
